CS 335 - Spring 2008 Final Grades

Congratulations, you've made it to the end of the semester!

Final grades are here (and the header link above).

The Grade Cutoffs are:

       A     100-89
       B     88.9-79
       C     78.9-70
       D     69.9-60
       E     59.9-0

Note that these grade cutoffs were decided before factoring in the extra credit. 
There was a total of %8.88 of extra credit available in the course.

Please check the syllabus for a description of the grade breakdown, and/or the column
breakdown that follows:

• Letter Grade: Your final official letter grade for the course.
• Final W/EC:  Your final grade including the extra credit available in the course.  This was used to calculate your Letter Grade using the grade cutoff scale listed above.
• Final Grade No EC:  Your grade total without adding the extra credit.
• Total EC:  The sum of all of your extra credit.
• Final Proj.:  Your percentage grade for your final project, the EC to the right is the extra credit you got on the final project.
• Particip.(Class/Sect):  Class and Section participation grades.
• Part./Quiz Combined:  The sum of your participation grades (at 1% each) and your 4 top quizzes (for another 3%).
• P/Q or MT:   Your Part./Quiz combined OR your best midterm, whichever is higher.

The percentages between the thick black lines represent the final grade weight of each column.  For example, exam 1's extra credit was 7 points out of a 75 point exam, with the exam being worth 20% of the final grade.  Therefore a single point on the exam was worth 20/75 final grade points, so the extra credit on the exam was worth (20/75) * 7 =  %1.87 of the final grade.
