CSc 352: Systems Programming and Unix

Course Description Programming in C, including single and multi-dimensional arrays, lists, stacks, queues, trees, and bit manipulation. Unix topics, including debuggers, makefiles, shell programming, and other topics that support C programming.

A detailed list of topics covered is given in the Syllabus.

The course has a significant programming load.

Prerequisites CSc 252 (co-requisite).
Meeting Times and Places: This course is available in traditional lecture format, meeting twice a week. There is an honors section that meets for an additional hour each week that is available to students who are members of the Honors Program. The choices are:
  • Traditional Lecture section: Students who attend in-person register for C SC 352 Section 001, meeting TuTh 9:30-10:45 AM in Speech & Hearing Sc., Room 205.

  • Honors section: In-person students registered in the Honors section (Section 002, C SC352H) attend the same in-person lectures as Section 001. In addition, C SC 352H (Section 002) has a discussion section that meets M 2:00-2:50 PM in Gould-Simpson 942.
