README of ICON_LEC.LZH, ICON_LEC2.LZH,etc These are guidebooks to The Icon Programming Language written in Japanese. I think Icon is a very useful language to handle text data, and Icon should be more popular in Japan. But there is no textbook written in Japanese. Although I'm not a expert of Icon, I began to write guidebooks to Icon and post them to Japanese BBSs, for Icon-beginners and my training of Icon skill. There are many encoding methods of Japanese characters. These files are encoded with "Shift-JIS encoded method" which used almost all personal com- puters in Japan. (Further information of Shift-JIS are described in "Understanding Japanese information processing" by Ken Lunde, published by O'Reilly & Associates,Inc..) I hope these documents help Japanese Icon-beginners and those who process Japanese texts. These documents are in the public domain.
