Version 9.4.1 of Icon

This release of Icon has been superseded.

Version 9.4.1 of Icon is available for Unix platforms in source and binary form. This version introduces facilities for using Icon programs as scripts and adds a configuration for the Apple Macintosh running OS X. For more details, see the release notes.

For Windows users, Icon 9.3.2 remains current, and the 9.4.1 library is available separately.

Executable Unix Binaries

Precompiled binaries are available for the Unix systems listed below. Each package includes the translator, interpreter, interface builder, and library procedures. To install Icon from binaries,

1. Download the correct tar file for your system
2. Unpack it to produce an icon.v941 directory
3. Follow the installation instructions.

Binary packages are 1.5 MB gzipped tar files. Unpack by gunzip <file.tgz | tar xf -.

Unix Source Code Package

The source code package is a 3.2 MB gzipped tar file that now includes the complete Icon program library. It can be configured for most Unix platforms including the Darwin substructure of the Apple Macintosh.
