Landscape Mode: Images wider than they are tall. Images in landscape mode are 11" x 8.5" for printing purposes.

About Image Quality

Image quality depends on many factors. The primary one is the quality of the "original" (some documents here were captured from xerographic copies). Most of the PDF files on this site are optimized for screen viewing. They should print reasonably well, but PDF files optimized for printing often are much larger than those optimized for screen viewing. Screen optimization is a compromise between quality and file size. File size is a consideration for this Web site, but it's a bigger consideration for most persons downloading files. If you have a special need for a print-optimized document, contact me and I will see if I can make it available on a temporary basis.

Unless otherwise noted, the image quality of the documents is "good". This means that text is reasonably clear and printed "photographs", both grayscale and color, are reasonable facsimilies of the originals.

"Very good" is reserved for some documents where the original is unusually good and the capture process produced result better than "good". "Very good" is the highest quality rating.

Images of lower quality are noted with a brief explanation. This includes incomplete or damaged "originals".

All images are actual size unless noted otherwise.
