Woven Images from Sequence Drafting

The links below go to pages of woven images obtained by sequence drafting. The term "woven image" as used here means an image constructed by a program working from a draft. The "threads" are one pixel wide. All the woven images are 256x256 pixels corresponding to 256 warp threads and 256 weft threads.

All the woven images come from drafts for an 8-shaft, 8-treadle loom. All have direct tie-ups -- treadle 1 to shaft 1, treadle 2 to shaft 2, and so on. The treadling is as drawn in -- the treadling sequence is the same as the threading sequence. Some can be woven with fewer shafts and treadles.

The threads are shades of gray to avoid the complications of hues in understanding the patterns. There are 27 shades of gray in most of the images. The weft colors also are done as draw in.

If the images seem very dark, it's probably because your monitor's gamma correction is not correct.
