Travis Wheeler

I'm a doctoral candidate in the computer science department at the University of Arizona. My advisors are John Kececioglu and Mike Sanderson.

I spend most of my academic time designing and implementing algorithms for problems motivated by data from molecular biology. Most of that time relates to multiple sequence alignment (see released software, Opal, AlignAlign, and a Mesquite Package ) and phylogeny inference. I'm also interested in motif finding (specifically related to gene regulation).
