One or more graduate students or advanced undergraduates are sought for summer employment, with extension possible through the 2008/2009 academic year, for work on a web development project.
The project is challenging, and involves programming at the current edge of Web 2.0, building social networking and learning applications that employ Facebook and Wikipedia.
The financial arrangement can be Curriculum Practical Training (CPT) or involve payment as an Independent Contractor. Non-U.S. citizens can only work on CPT, and only if they have been in their program for 12 months. Pay rate is $30-40 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
Desired Skill Set:
Strong programming skills, particularly C#.Net (2.0)
Good understanding of XML and XML parsing, experience with Database and Web server administration.
Experience with SQL Server 2005 is desirable.
Prior work experience with C#.Net, XML and SQL Server is a plus, as is design documentation knowledge (i.e. UML, ER).
