The Lunar and Planetary Laboratory (LPL) is seeking undergraduate and graduate student assistants to work part time (10-20 hours/week) on software development and maintenance projects supporting the NASA-funded project “High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment” (HiRISE).
Skills and experience in software development in a Unix computing environment are necessary. Familiarity with the C++, Java and/or PERL programming language is required; familiarity with all these languages and their software development procedures and tool chains is a plus.
The environment is part of a HiRISE technical development team. Salary is negotiable based on experience. Federal ITAR/EAR compliance regulations require that a successful candidate is a US citizen or legal permanent resident.
The HiRISE instrument, flown on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) is acquiring unprecedented high resolution imaging of the Martian surface in support of science investigations in a wide range of geologic and climatic processes. Join our team and share in the excitement of exploring Mars. For more information, http://hirise.lpl.arizona.edu
