Do I need to complete all the pre-major requirements before I can apply for admission to the major?

Yes, all of the pre-major requirements must be completed prior to making application to the department for acceptance to the major. Students may apply during either the fall or spring semesters.

What should I declare as my major before I am accepted to the computer science major?

You cannot declare computer science as your major until you have completed the pre-major requirements, made application to the department, and been accepted into the program. Students should register with the College of Science as a pre-Computer Science major (PRCS).

Professional career opportunities remain strong for the computer science graduate, and it is anticipated that the field will continue to expand.
