GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Complete university requirements for the Bachelor of Science degree are listed in the Academic Program Requirements Report (APRR) for the student’s appropriate catalog year. This information is available through the Student Link web page.

Very Important Reminders:

· A minimum of 42 units of upper-division credit (300 and 400-level courses) are required for this degree.  Please note that this requirement will not be met by completing only the minimum number of required upper-division computer science courses.

· Only 64 units of community college work can be applied toward your UA degree.  This means that for the 120-unit CS degree, you must complete at least 56 units from a 4-year university.

· You must complete at least 30 units at the UA in order to receive a UA degree.  Your remaining credits may be supplemented with transfer work from community colleges (64-unit limit) and other 4-year institutions.

· Of the final 30 units that you complete toward your degree, only 12 of them can be transfer units.  This means that you would not be able to, for example, complete your entire last year of coursework at another institution and still receive a UA degree.

· Students must earn a grade of B or better in second-semester English in order to fulfill the Mid-Career Writing Assessment.  Students who do not meet the requirement will be evaluated by the department on a case-by-case basis.

· Minimum grade-point average requirements for graduation:

            · Major coursework: 2.000 GPA

            · Minor coursework: 2.000 GPA

            · University of Arizona coursework: 2.000 GPA

· A minor is optional, but encouraged.

It is the student’s responsibility to know and understand the complete university and major degree requirements.
