We also offer courses in several subfields including graphics, artificial intelligence, and the software aspects of computer architecture.
Is the Computer Science major right for me?
The University of Arizona offers several computing majors. It is important that you be aware of these different majors, and that you gain an understanding of which program is the best fit for you and will most closely align with your personal and career interests. A Bachelor of Science degree from the Department of Computer Science is designed for students who want to design and program various types of application and system software. CS students take many courses that develop their problem-solving and programming skills. Students get a thorough grounding in the theoretical basis for CS that provides them with a solid foundation for future learning both on the job and in graduate school.
