Linux Party Mar 6th 2005

WICS is planning a Linux install party this weekend, and we'd really
like as many people as possible to attend.  I would like to emphasize
that this is for all levels.  So, whether you wanted to make it to the
Unix Basics Night but couldn't, want to try out Gentoo, or think you
could help others solve weird routing errors, come join the penguiny
goodness!  Bring your machine(s) if you want to actually install, or
just come and ask questions, or just watch.  We should have at least
two people there just to answer questions (Marshall McMullen and I).
It's an especially good thing to do if you need to take 352 and don't
feel confident about Linux/Unix - using it at home will hugely
increase your knowledge and confidence.

And no, you don't have to get rid of Windows.  The main thing we'll
probably be doing is dual-boot installs, meaning you can switch
between Linux and Windows by rebooting.

To facilitate the attendance of anyone who's interested, please write
back and let me know what times would work for you, and we'll schedule
it for maximum availability.  You don't have to be sure, but if you
think you might be interested, let me know your schedule.  The event
will take place at the home of Shauna Eggers, about a mile east of
campus (rides will be provided as necessary).
