Christina Beasley

Undergraduate Academic Advisor, Senior

Advises (Last names M-R)

Office: GS 917

I began my advisor position in Computer Science in July 2021, and am really enjoying getting to know and working with CS students, staff, and faculty.  I thrive on working one on one with students, and also love working with them in group settings.  It is my lifetime goal to help and influence people in a positive way, and I have found no more satisfying way to do this than as an academic advisor and teacher.  In addition – as many of you have come to know – I have a quirky sense of humor, and if I can make someone laugh or smile, it makes my day. Previous to my position in Computer Science, I was an academic advisor (for 17 years) in the UA School of Theatre, Film & Television.

A little about my background:  I grew up in several places throughout the country (Tucson, upstate New York, Southern California), the daughter of a university professor.  I have moved around a bit as an adult as well (Michigan, Texas), and I have four degrees in music performance (Eastman School of Music, University of Michigan, University of Arizona).  In addition to my UA academic advisor position I am a professional classical musician, and am currently principal viola with the Arizona Opera.  In the late 1990s I was a full-time music faculty member at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.

In my spare time, I love spending time with my artist husband Eric (who also works here at UA), our two teenagers, and our Australian cattle dog Argo (who has his own Instagram account).
