I have spent the past 17+ years as an academic advisor in the UA School of Theatre, Film & Television, and I am eager to learn a new position in another area, to get to know new colleagues, and especially to meet and work with a whole new crop of students! I thrive on working one on one with students, and also love working with them in group settings. It is my lifetime goal to influence people in a positive way, and I have found no more satisfying way to do this than as an academic advisor and/or teacher. In addition – as many of you will come to know – I have a quirky sense of humor, and if I can make someone laugh or smile, it makes my day.
A little about my background: I grew up in several places throughout the country (Tucson, upstate New York, Southern California), the daughter of a University professor. I have moved around a bit as an adult as well, and I have four degrees in music performance (BM, Eastman School of Music; MM, MM, University of Michigan; DMA, University of Arizona). Outside of my full-time UA position I am a professional classical musician (viola and violin), and am currently principal viola with the Arizona Opera (since 2005). In the late 1990s I was on the full-time music faculty at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my artist husband Eric (who also works here at UA), our two teenagers, and our Australian cattle dog Argo, who has his own Instagram account(!).
