Biography

I was born and raised in Shanghai. And I previously received a master’s degree in computer science at the University of Georgia, working with Prof. Liming Cai. I am a first-year graduate student in the Computer Science department at the University of Arizona. My major advisor is Dr. John Kececioglu. I am focusing on bioinformatics and algorithm.

Research Interests

I am very interested in algorithms and bioinformatics. Moreover, I always carry a goal, which hopefully is implementing simple and effective algorithms rather than solving problems by machine learning (black-boxes) with a super long training time.

What long-term project do you want to work on?

I want to predict structure for protein and RNA; my ongoing project is about RNA tertiary structure prediction, and another project for this semester is looking for a new protein secondary structure prediction method.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

I love reading the paper and solving puzzles. Moreover, I can implement my idea always.

What are your career goals

Tell us something interesting about yourself!

Sudoku and Minesweeper are two of my favorite games, and I often play them every day. I'm also a big fan of the Warriors and hope they will win the championship this year.
