Biography

I am a first-year PhD student in Computer Science, working with Prof. Chicheng Zhang. I was born and raised in a city in the northern part of China. Prior to UA, I obtained my bachelor's degree in Economics from Nankai University in 2018, and MS in Quantitative Finance from Fordham University in 2020. I also had a short working experience as a quant in New York City. Now I am very excited to see where this PhD journey would take me to.

Research Interests

I am interested in Machine Learning, especially Learning Theory.

What long-term project do you want to work on?

Proving how good any machine learning algorithm could be theoretically, and designing algorithms that are as close as possible to the limits.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

Learning new stuff and resolving problems always make me excited!

What are your career goals

I hope to have a research position, either in the industry or academia. I would also like to be an entrepreneur as my family do, perhaps in a tech-related domain.

Tell us something interesting about yourself!

I love traveling a lot! I have been to over 30 countries. I am also a big fan of music and sports. I do not usually set goals for myself, but I know I must achieve them once I do.
